Ephraim Wilson - conflicting origins

  • Wikitree at < link >lists Ephraim as son of Samuel Wilson (b. 2 July 1710), son of Ephraim Wilson and Elizabeth Davis, and a wife seen as Elizabeth Holbrook, who was born at Cecil, Maryland in 1740. Ephraim Wilson, Sheriff of Somerset County emigrated there from Killybegs, Donegal in the Ulster Plantation.
  • Wikitree notes at < link > an Ephraim Wilson born in 1740 CECIL, Maryland to Eizabeth.
  • However, the MilesFiles at < link > does not show that Samuel with any wife other than Martha Wilson and Martha did not have a son Ephraim.
  • WeRelate at < link > has an unsourced tree listing him as the son of Samuel’s brother, Thomas Wilson, Died young with a wife Elizabeth (unknown).
  • FamilySearch at < link > shows his parents as Thomas Wilson 1698–Deceased) and Amy Irvin Female (1699–1739) Marriage, 4 March 1726, Somerset, Maryland, United States.
