Why are full-resolution photos losing resolution?

I uploaded a photo of 3000x4000 resolution, used identify to select people, then removed people and added again, now the photo is accessible only as 291x480 px image... And I have to upload again a full size original image which I don't have again unfortunately (it's lost).
