There seems to be some evidence pertaining to the parents of Jan Dirk Jansen. According to the First Fifty Years project (usually quite reliable), he should be the fourth child for Arnold Jansz and Hendrina van Diesen (Ysen). Please refer to http://www.e-family.co.za/ffy/g9/p9011.htm .
A baptism for a Joannis Jans 1689 has been sited as being his, and to add more evidence, his supposed brother in this case, Harmanus, signs as witness at the baptism of his first daughter Andrina (Hendrina). I would like to recommend adding the following couple as his parents: Aarnout Jansz, SV/PROG ; Hendrina van de Eijse, SM/PROG . This should then also make his father the SV/PROG and he should be B and daughters C generations according to DVP numbering.
