I had some back and forth with Geni Support on this issue in https://help.geni.com/hc/en-us/requests/141474
Unfortunately they have stopped corresponding with me on the matter - I guess they dont have a solution and have it in the "too hard basket" so have gone silent.

Why then is his son, John Gielgud, Sir John Gielgud then showing as my 18th cousin four times removed when he should clearly be 17th cousin five times removed https://www.geni.com/path/Craig-Miles+is+related+to+Sir-John-Gielgu...
No amount of regenerating the relationship or walking the relationship path (as suggested by Geni support) has been able to fix this.
So it seems like there has to be something wrong here?
I have a number of other examples of this also.
