Hi all!

In case you are wondering, more adoptees are being included into this portal. I suggest it's time to create Notable Adoptees and Notable Adoptive Parents projects (or without the word Notable), and then sort them into respective projects. However, the term Intrafamily Adoption (adoption of a child by their stepparent or close relative) seems to be confusing whether adoptees, adoptive parents or both will be included. What do you think?

In some ways it seems to be redundant to have a generic Adoptees project and a generic Adoptive Parents project, as the Adopted child will have the link to their adoptive parents.

In might be interesting, though, to have a project of Notable Adoptive Parents ... particularly where the couple adopted (or fostered?) a large number of children. (That is, the "notability" is about their dedication to adoption/fostering, rather than that they were a "famous person or couple who adopted 1 or 2 children"). At least, that would be my taken on what would make it an interesting project to peruse.

The difference with foster relationship is that the latter does not have legal or formal binding between legal parent(s) and legal child(ren). So, being a foster child or parent will not be definitely included into the adoption portal. I'm willing to join both projects if they are ready enough.

Not necessarily, Klarenz -- that's extremely dependent upon the jurisdiction.

I agree with Dan that there's no need for the two projects as described, due to the redundancy issue. I would personally just stick with a "Notable Adoptees" project.

"Intrafamily Adoption" simply means someone is adopted by another member of their biological family. Simone Biles is a famous example -- her biological grandfather is her adoptive father, since he and his wife adopted Simone when Simone's mother could no longer care for her. A stepparent adopting a child is not considered intrafamilial adoption because there is no biological tie.
