James McGee, I - Not the son of Michael and Elizabeth

Michael and Elizabeth's son John gave testimony in 1788 in which he named their children. John stated that Jesse Steed was the illegitimate child born to Elizabeth prior to her marriage to Michael. John stated that he, Moses, and Michael were the children of Michael and Elizabeth.

James' parents were most likely William Magee and Elizabeth Buckholtz of South Carolina.
