Samuel Jephcott - Inconsistencies

I do my son's genealogy, so I got a notification about inconsistency on this paternal ancestor of his.

The problem may be in the fact that the parents connected here on Geni aren't the ones in trees on Ancestry, where his info shows as below, including different dates of birth and death:

and a post farther down on that page says:

Is there any proof that Samuel is Jacob's father and Catherine his mother? Asking as Samuel's DOB is 1659 making him 66 years old when Jacob was born. Possible but not likely. Through my research in to the Jeffcoats I discounted this relationship due to the age and finding no source documents linking Jacob to Samuel.

Which brings up a whole other set of questions about the parentage of Jacob.
