I'm looking for info on my gt grandfather, @David Frederik Spangenberg (1841-1901) who died at sea en route to Bermuda in 1901.

Phillip I’ve done extensive research to find records of POW at Bermuda during that period. It appears that not much was recorded about names in particular. Very disappointing.

I do have some docs which I found on the internet. If you're interested I'll send them to you. What's your E mail address?

Fritz Joubert Duquesne was a really hardcore Boer soldier during the Boer War. He escaped from Bermuda where he was sent as a POW and made his way to America then England where he joined the British army as a spy under an alias. He then made his way back to South Africa where he found out his family farm had been burnt down, his sister raped by the English and his mother in a concentration camp. It's along story but really interesting. Found out he's my 6th cousin once removed connected along the French Huguenot Mouton, Joubert line.
This Wikipedia makes him out to be a "nazi" who fought for the Germans during WW1&2 but basically he was just anti British.
