@ Thomas Kootsillas Both Thomas Cucules (Americanized to Kootsillas) and his wife Margaret Navickas (Kootsillas) were coal miners from Lithuania on their arrival abt 1886. There havae been inconsistencies in their name spellings and filling out forms to include decades of Census interviews, Applications for the Draft of sons, Intentions to Naturalize, and perhaps others we have collected. I'ce learned to download and save every original and have posted them in FamilySearch "Memories' which accepts JPG copies.

The most original indication is name was Cucules is that was the spelling on his Intent to Naturalize; this was the spelling my mother,Evelyn Marie Kootsillas grandaughter of Thomas Kootillas b abt 1855, and dau of Thomas J Kootsillas b 1898 recalled she was told by her mother as she was growing up or approaching adulthood. Our intent is to finish what we have on FamilySearch of the American citizens of the line and ask Geni to assist us with the Lithuanian extention of Tom and Magdlen(a) Cucules, Kucules, and some other variations of their surname and determined by conjecture of their port of entry abt 1886 in NY, Philladelphia or Baltimore, as recalled by other descendants we have contacted.

We may continue experiementing with surnames in an effort to triigger a match based on alternative spelling possibilities beyond their Kootsillas Americanized spelling found on most all 20th century records of them and their 8 children, first settling in Shenandoah PA, then Bureau Co (Hall township) ILL, and finally and permanently settling in Detroit starting just before the 1920 Census there..
