John Gibbs Hitchcock - Death of John Gibbs Hitchcock

This has been a mystery for many of us doing research of John Gibbs Hitchcock since he died at 37. He is buried at Enon Cemetery in now Bullock Co ( once Macon before the boundary line change. There is no marker for he and Abi Eiland Hitchcock, his wife at the time but with the work that is being done by local ancestors of those buried there. hope abounds they will find his burial site. However no information of what caused his death. Have you found any source for finding this?
The more of us doing research maybe the mystery could be found.
