Funeral services for Jerry Donald Rivers will be held at 3 p.m., Tuesday, February 10, 2015 at St. Clair Baptist Church, 940 St. Clair Road, Gardner, LA 71409 with Reverend Don Gauthieux and Reverend Randy Ellis officiating. Military rites will be conducted by the United States Army. Committal service will follow in the St. Clair Cemetery of Gardner under the guidance of White Oaks Funeral Home, Alexandria.

Jerry, 71, of Elmer, entered eternal rest on Sunday, February 8, 2015 in his residence. He was born July 4, 1943 in Many to the union of Clarence J. Rivers and Irma Vanasselberg Rivers. He was a veteran of the United States Army and retired as a contractor. He was a loving husband, father, stepfather, brother, grandfather, uncle, and friend.

He is preceded in death by his parents; and one stepson, Edd Cooper.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are: his wife, Yvonne E. Rivers of Elmer; three daughters, Wendy Renee Rivers/Morris of Highpoint, North Carolina, Monica Ilone Ruiz of Palm Springs, California, and Doctor Nicole Angela McCommon of Benton; stepdaughter, Odessa Pool of Deluth, Georgia; three brothers, Marvin "Bill" Rivers, Sherman Rivers, and Huey "Doc" Rivers all of Gardner; three sisters, Joan Rivers of Otis, Betty Henderson of Alexandria, and Gail Herrington of Gardner; three grandchildren and two on the way; and a host of family and friends.

Visitation will begin today, February 10, 2015 in St. Clair Baptist Church until service time at 3 p.m.
