Achsah Gaither (daughter of Dennis Gaither and Elizabeth Disney) married *a* William Anderson circa Nov. 12, 1839 (license date), Anne Arundel County, MD. 1850 Census record for William Anderson in Vansville, Prince Georges County, MD shows William and Achsah Anderson with 14 children in household, the first seven of whom match up with William Anderson x Sarah Waters.

So yes, likely two successive wives.

I added additional siblings earlier today based on the book I saw cited at FS.
Sarah Anderson already exists. I have not looked at their children.

Sarah Waters is listed second among the children of Nathan and Mabel Waters, right after a son who is noted as having served in the War of 1812 (so must have been born very soon after their marriage). Two younger(?) sisters were married in 1819 and 1816 respectively. All of this implies a birth date circa 1800 plus-or-minus maybe two years either way.

Evidence for a middle name of "Jane" is iffy, not given by Newman - and the Waters family was notoriously prolific (as, apparently, were the Andersons but Newman says little of them).

I had *better* know the Waters family, since they're all relatives! (Autocorrect screwed up first attempt.)
