Y-DNA testing indicates that Travis Corum has a paternal line to Michael Luttrell Sr (1720-1778). It's unknown exactly who his biological father is, but the Y-DNA testing also indicates the closest relative is a descendent of Jesse Luttrell. Some traditional (non-DNA) sources indicate Jesse descends from Michael Luttrell, Jr, but others indicates he descends from Robert Luttrell (1738-1812). Added by Ashby Corum (ashby@corumfam.com)
NN Luttrell
will leave attached due to DNA work

Wikitree doesn't list son John but SAYS:

Dinah and sons Richard and John Luttrell were named as executors..[1]

If you read the full wikitree page closely, including the Will at the bottom, the Will does name Richard and John as executors, but the Will does not refer to John as a son. Considering the Will leaves other items to five sons and nothing to a son named John, I would argue that is evidence he does not have a son named John. The John that served as executor could be his brother John Lewis Luttrell that lived until 1790, or another John Luttrell.

Ashby Toland Corum I think you are correct..... any thoughts on who this John is?

My DNA cousin is the daughter of a woman whose father was an American GI in England during the second World War. She and I have been able to narrow it down to a LUTTRELL common ancestor. I have no Luttrell ancestor but they marry into the ROBERTS line which is mine. I suspect I DO have a Luttrell ancestor as folks tend to marry in a community....

In other words, this is why I tiptoe about Luttrell every so often but do not have much to go on

My best guess is the John is John Lewis Luttrell, who was Michael Luttrell's younger brother, but that is pure speculation.

The Luttrell's, like most families of the time, weren't very creative with names and used the same name over and over and over. Accordingly, you have to be very careful when you see a name since that name was probably used by several family members.

I personally find the below book to be worth the $28 if you want to find how you're connected to the Luttrell line:
