Box 14, Package 7, recorded by Wm Rice (ordy) states:
In the name of God Amen I David Prewitt seignior of the State and District
affore maid being in perfect health of body and of Sound and disposing mind
Memory and understanding considering the certainty of death and the uncertainty
of the time there of. And being desirious to Settle my wordly affairs and
there by be the better prepared to leave this world When it Shall pleas God to
call hence. I do therefore make and Publish this my last will and Testament
in the Manner and form following that is to Say I further wish and desire that
all my Just debts Shall be Paid out of My property.
Jan 5 1824 --------- Will of David Pruitt,Sr., probated. Will written May 2
1822 mentions wife Sarah and children: John Prewit, decd.; Elisha Prewit,decd;
David Prewit; Henry Preit; Mastin Prewit; Mary Boyd; Sarah Ham; and James
Prewit ( B-131; and Box14, p.7). Mary Emblem to act as guardian for heirs of
John Prewit (Bk 29, Vol. 2, p. 131).
