I am a BigY-700 tester and researcher, and a Martin descendant of R-BY27212 - who was born about 1450.

The BigY evidence does not support that Martin Martin was born in the Isle of Skye.

The Globetrekker feature at FamilyTreeDNA clearly shows that R-BY27212 was likely born on the England-Wales border near Chester.

The cone of probabilities for the birth of this ancestor suggests he could have been born anywhere from eastern Ireland, eastern Northern Ireland, the western Scottish Lowlands, the western border counties of England or the Isle of Man. The Isle of Skye is not even close to being within the cone of probabilities.

Please follow the evidence.
