I'm trying to spark up a discussion to gain as much information as I can about this regiment, one, because it's not well written about, and two.. I don't have any information about where this regiment was, what battles it fought, if any, and who all was in it and where.
My GG Grandfather, Prince William Washington served in this regiment for 4 years 11 months, according to a 1900 Clarksburg, WV Special Veterans Census that was taken back then, and I heard from the Charleston, WV historian that, when they sit you down during the census they ask you all the questions about it, and then at the end, they ask if you were Unio or Confederate, and if you said "Confederate", they would draw a line through your name, which is in fact what happened on his name on the census, so... PWW was definitely a confederate.
At any rate, if anyone knows anything about this regiment, or can point me to a source for information, I would greatly appreciate it.
