Yes, I have heard of this story passed down 4 generations through my husband's family from his grandmother Jean Ellen Gulliver born Mirmichi, New Brunswick Canada. I've tried to find marriage license of James Galagher/Gulliver and Elizabeth Percival in Cavan, Ireland but haven't had any luck to substantiate story other than what has been written here and spoken about by family. Although I suspected the marriage did not take place in the hometown of the Percivals due to the 'unapproved' marriage I hadn't branched out too far from Caven but will resume search now in Northern Ireland.
