prince Roman Ingvarevich of Ryazan

Roman Ingvarevich (d. January 1238) - one of the sons of the Ryazan prince Ingvar Igorevich, who died in 1235. He is considered the younger brother of Yuri of Ryazan and the Kolomna prince during the Mongol invasion.

In the Resurrection Chronicle under 1217, when listing the sons of Ingvar, he stands before Yuri and Oleg. In the primary sources, he is not mentioned as the Kolomna prince. For example, the Novgorod chronicle reports that Yuri was under siege in Ryazan, and Roman "began to fight with his people." The association of Roman with Kolomna is primarily due to the Battle of Kolomna, where he, together with the Vladimir army, met the Mongols. Voitovich identifies it with the mentioned "The Tale of the Devastation of Ryazan by Batu" Gleb Ingvarevich Kolomensky.

Roman and Yeremey Glebovich, the governor of Vladimir, went under siege in Kolomna, and the Vladimir prince Vsevolod also participated in the battle, whom his father sent to help the Ryazan princes with all the people. In the battle, Roman and the voivode Yeremey, as well as the youngest son of Genghis Khan Kulkan, were killed. Vsevolod with the remnants of the troops managed to return to Vladimir.

The Mongolian court chronicler Rashid ad-Din, of all the defenders of Rus', pays the most attention to Roman and, possibly, ascribes to the future Mongol Khan Munk participation in the campaign to the north and in the battle of Kolomna.

Researchers of the Mongol invasion of Rus' Khrapachevsky R.P. and Kargalov V.V. mistakenly call Roman Igorevich (Roman Igorevich died at the princely congress in 1217).

Роман Ингваревич (ум. январь 1238) — один из сыновей умершего в 1235 году рязанского князя Ингваря Игоревича. Считается младшим братом Юрия рязанского и коломенским князем во время монгольского нашествия.

В Воскресенской летописи под 1217 годом при перечислении сыновей Ингваря стоит перед Юрием и Олегом. В первоисточниках в качестве коломенского князя не упоминается. Например, Новгородская летпоись сообщает, что Юрий сел в осаду в Рязани, а Роман «стал биться с сними со своими людьми». Ассоциация Романа с Коломной происходит прежде всего из-за Коломенского сражения, где он вместе с владимирским войском встретил монголов. Монгольский придворный хронист Рашид ад-Дин из всех защитников Руси наибольшее внимание уделяет Роману и, возможно, приписывает будущему монгольскому хану Мунке участие в походе на север и в сражении под Коломной.

Исследователи монгольского нашествия на Русь Храпачевский Р. П. и Каргалов В. В. ошибочно называют Романа Игоревичем (Роман Игоревич погиб на княжеском съезде в 1217 году).
