Martin Dyck
- 196128
Birth: 19 Nov 1788, Neuendorf, Chortitza, South Russia Death: 21 Feb 1842, South Russia Burial: 24 Feb 1842, Einlage, Chortitza, South Russia Father: Dyck, Johann, , #196127 Mother: Klassen, Katharina, Abt 1767, #196109 Last update: 15 May 2014 Family: Family 12679 Spouse: _?_, Margaretha, Abt 1789, #283707 Married: Abt 1814; Last update: 6/27/2011 1 -- + Dueck, Margaretha, 22 Oct 1811, #25065 2 -- + Dyck, Katharina, 23 Jul 1814, #369268 3 -- + Dueck, Aganetha, 7 Mar 1821, #228609 4 -- + Dyck, Martin, 10 Oct 1823, #126982 Notes: Note: In the 1801 Chortitza Colony Census he is listed with his grandfather Martin Klassen #113765 at Neuendorf #48. He is listed with his uncle Abram Klassen #197047 at Neuendorf #48 in the 1802 Chortitza Colony Census (B. H. Unruh, p. 256). In the Oct 1816 Chortitza Colony Census he is listed in Einlage among the landless. The David Epp diary entry for 22 Feb 1842 states that he died on 19 Feb 1842 after falling off a wagon in a drunken state while on his way to Ekaterinoslav. However, the diary entry for 24 Feb 1842 at the time of Martin Dyck's funeral states that Martin Dyck was 53 years, 3 months, and 2 days old at the time of his death which would be consistent with him being born 19 Nov 1788 and dying 21 Feb 1842. Possibly the David Epp diary is incorrect as to the date of his death. The diary states that he was living in Einlage at the time of his death, that he had 6 children, all of them living in 1842, and that he had been married for 28 years.
