Edward Priaulx Tennant, 1st Baron Glenconner, born on 31 May 1859, was the son of
Sir Charles Clow Tennant of The Glen, 1st Bt. and Emma Winsloe.
He married Pamela Adelaide Genevieve Wyndham, daughter of Hon. Percy Scawen Wyndham and Madeline Caroline Frances Eden Campbell, on 11 July 1895.
- Educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England.
- Succeeded as the 2nd Baronet Tennant [U.K., 1885] on 4 June 1906.
- Held the office of Lord-Lieutenant of Peebles-shire between 1908 and 1920.
- He was created 1st Baron Glenconner, of Glen, co. Peebles [U.K.] on 3 April 1911.
- Held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Wiltshire.
- Graduated from Trinity College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, in 1885 with a Master of Arts (M.A.)
- Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Liberal) for Salisbury between 1906 and 1910.
- Succeeded as the 2nd Baronet Tennant [U.K., 1885] on 4 June 1906.
- Held the office of Lord-Lieutenant of Peebles-shire between 1908 and 1920.
- Held the office of Lord High Commissioner of the General Assembly of the Church of Scotland, 1911-1914.
