Henry William Forster, 1st and last Baron Forster

Henry William Forster, 1st and last Baron Forster was educated at Eton College, Eton, Berkshire, England. He graduated from New College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England, with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.). He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Conservative) for Sevenoaks between 1892 and 1918. He held the office of a Lord of Treasury between 1902 and 1905. He fought in the First World War. He was a member of the Army Council between 1915 and 1919. He held the office of Finance Secretary to the War Office between 1915 and 1919. He was invested as a Privy Counsellor (P.C.) in 1917. He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Conservative) for Bromley between 1918 and 1919. He was created 1st Baron Forster, of Lepe, co. Southampton [U.K.] on 12 December 1919. He was invested as a Knight Grand Cross, Order of St. Michael and St. George (G.C.M.G.) in 1920. He held the office of Governor-General of Australia between 1920 and 1925.1 He was invested as a Knight of Grace, Order of St. John of Jerusalem (K.G.St.J.).
