About Sir William Burrell, 2nd Baronet

Sir William Burrell, 2nd Bt. graduated from St. John's College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England, in 1755 with a Bachelor of Law (LL.B.).

He was awarded the honorary degree of Doctor of Law (LL.D.) by St. John's College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England, in 1760.

He held the office of Chancellor of Worcester in 1764.

He held the office of Chancellor of Rochester.

He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Haslemere between 1768 and 1774.

He held the office of Commissioner of Excise between 1771 and 1787.

He was invested as a Fellow, Royal Society (F.R.S.).

He was invested as a Fellow, Society of Antiquaries (F.S.A.).

He succeeded to the title of 2nd Baronet Raymond, of Valentine House, co. Essex [G.B., 1774] on 6 April 1787.

In August 1787 he was partially paralysed.
