Admiral Henry Osborn (baptized 27 August 1694 – 4 February 1771) was a British naval officer who served as Commodore-Governor of Newfoundland. He was a younger son of Sir John Osborn, 2nd Baronet.

Admiral Henry Osborne was baptised on 27 August 1694.2 He was the son of Sir John Osborne, 2nd Bt. and Martha Kelynge.3 He was also reported to have been born on 26 June 1697.1 He married Mary Hughes, daughter of Richard Hughes.1 He died on 4 February 1771 at age 76.1,2
He was commissioned in 1710 with the rank of officer, in the service of the Royal Navy.2 He gained the rank of Lieutenant in 1717.2 He held the office of Governor of Newfoundland between 1729 and 1737.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Bedford.1 He was Commander-in-Chief of the Leeward Islands.1 He fought in the Battle of Cartagena in 1757.2 He gained the rank of Admiral of the Blue in 1757.2 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Bedfordshire between 1758 and 1761.2

He was Admiral of the white Squadron of his Majesty's Fleet, and sometime Vice-Admiral of Great Britain, a brave and experienced Officer, having served in the Navy sixty years with great reputation and honour. In 1758, having the command of the Fleet in the Mediterranean, by his activity and vigilance he prevented the junction of the French and Spanish Squadrons, and received the thanks of the House of Commons for the services he had done to his King and Country. He married Mary, eldest daughter of Richard Hughes, Esq. Commissioner of the Navy, and died Feb. 4th, 1771, in the 74th year of his age, leaving one son and 3 daughters.
