About Jon Pertwee
John Devon Roland "Jon" Pertwee (7 July 1919 – 20 May 1996) was an English actor. Pertwee is remembered for his 18-year stint on BBC Radio as Chief Petty Officer Pertwee in The Navy Lark, as the third incarnation of The Doctor in the science-fiction series Doctor Who (1970-1974), and as the title character in the series Worzel Gummidge (1979-1981).
