About William Addams Reitwiesner
BIOGRAPHY: Son of George Walter Reitwiesner and Homé Stephens McAllister, William Addams Reitwiesner was born 8 March 1954 in Havre de Grace, Maryland, and has worked at the Library of Congres since 1972. A specialist in European royalty and nobility, and American connections to both, he contributed to the second edition of Burke's Presidential Families of the United States, volumes two and three of L'Allemagne Dynastique, and Les Marechaux de Napoleon III. He has also published more than twenty articles and notes in genealogical journals both in the United States and abroad, including The Genealogist, The American Genealogist, The Augustan and l'Intermediare des Chercheurs et Curieux. Major monographs or articles of particular interest have dealt with Welsh, French, German, Polish, and Russian noble or princely families, plus the American ancestors of Earl Snowdon and former Queen Geraldine of the Albanians.
The above is recorded in a book co-authored with Gary Boyd Roberts, published in 1984 American Ancestors and Cousins of The Princess of Wales. He also has developed a major genealogical website.
