Robert Dillon, seigneur de Terrefort

Robert Dillon was born say 1710 in Ireland and died in 1769, in France. He was the son of Theobald, Lord Dillon van Roscommon (Theobald Dillon of Dublin) and Christian Whyte (dau of Thomas Whyte, son of Henry of Ballymore)

Robert Dillon married first, in 1737, to Mary Newland (dau of William Newland of Gatton). Their child was:

1. Catherine or Christiana Dillon (b 1738/9, d 14.08.1768) m. Sir Edward Swinburne, Bart

Robert Dillon married second, in October 1745 at Wrightington, to Mary Dicconson (dau of Edward Dicconson of Wrightington). They had 12 children.

1. Mary Dillon (1746-1782) qui épousa le marquis de Lavie (1747-1812) président à mortier du parlement de Bordeaux, député de la noblesse puis membre du Conseil des Cinq-Cents ;

6. Éléonore Dillon (1753-1831) qui épousa René-Eustache d'Osmond quatrième marquis d'Osmond (1751-1838), ministre de France, ambassadeur, pair de France sous la Restauration (elle fut la mère de la comtesse de Boigne et de Rainulphe d'Osmond cinquième marquis d'Osmond
7. Robert Guillaume Dillon (Robert William) (1754-1837), mestre de camp du régiment de Lauzun-Hussards, lieutenant-général
8. William-Henry, dit Billy Dillon (1760-1788), capitaine au régiment de Lauzun-Hussards
9. Roger-Henry Dillon (1762-1832), vicaire général de l'évêque de Dijon
10. Franck-Théobald, chevalier de Dillon (1764-1837) officier au régiment de Lauzun-Hussards, puis au régiment de Dillon (1789), maréchal de camp en 1815
