About Aaron Doan
As one of the "Tory Doans," Aaron was arrested in 1784 and condemned to death. In 1787, however, the sentence was commuted to exile. Aaron went to Canada and spent the rest of his life in the township of Humberstone. Married to Rhoda Cook in 1790. Nine of his children received Crown grants of land. Buried in Humberstone which is now a community within Port Colborne, Ontario.
Son of Hester Vickers and Joseph Doan, Sr.(5), Israel(4), Daniel(3), Daniel(2) Deacon John Doane(1). As one of the "Tory Doans," Aaron was arrested in 1784 and condemned to death.
