Joseph was married twice before he came to MacKinnon's Harbour, and both times to a Miss Mombourquette. His family from the first wife was: Annie May, Bertha, and Cecilia who died in infancy. His family from the second wife was: Rita, Charlie, Cecilia, Kathleen, Nora, Abe, Felix, Annie, Leo who was adopted by John Alex (Seonaid) MacNeil, Ottawa Brook (see 254), and a son and two daughters who died in infancy. 278

Abe Bonaparte, 82, of MacKinnon's

Harbour, passed away Friday, June 1, 2007, at the CapeBreton Regional Hospital, Sydney, surroundedby his loving family.He was the son of the late

Mary (Mombourquette) and Joseph Bonaparte. He was predeceased by his wife, the late Katherine Sarah (MacNeil). He was a loving father to sons, John J. (Donna),

D.A. (Donna), Brian (Elizabeth) Bonaparte, all of MacKinnon's Harbour and his son,Charles, who still lived at home with his dad; daughters, Lucy (David) Muise, Lingan and Cathy (Spiro) Hirdaris, Halifax.

He was a very special and loving grandfather to his grandchildren, Evan, Alex, Teagan, Camden, Kalen,

Ethan, Gavin Bonaparte and David, Rachel, Scott Muise. He is also survived by sisters, Rita MacInnis, Sydney, Cecilia MacNeil, Red Point, Kathleen MacLean, Ottawa Brook and brothers, Leo Bonaparte, MacKinnon's Harbour.

He was predeceased by sisters, Bertha MacLeod, Anna MacSween/Baily, Nora Gagne,Annie MacNeil; brothers, Charles, Felix and twin brother, Raymond in infancy.

He was loved and respected by all who knew him.He worked for many years running asawmill in MacKinnon's Harbour, for which hewas well known.

Visitation will be 2-9 p.m. today (Monday), at the St. Columba Parish Centre with funeralon Tuesday, June 5, 2007 at 11 a.m. in St.Columba Church, Iona with Fr. Charles J.Donovan officiating. Burial will be in the Sacred Heart Cemetery, MacKinnon's Harbour. Donations may be made to the MacKinnon's Harbour Cemetery Fund.Arrangements are under the direction of MacAskill's Funeral Home, Baddeck, N.S.
