About Abel Wheelock, Sr.
Notes for Abel Wheelock: Abel went to Granville, Annapolis County, Nova Scotia, in 1760 at the age of 21 years. He was, no doubt, one of many New England "Planters" who took advantagous of the land grants offered by the English who had recently forced the French speaking Acadians out of the country.
In many cases, entire farms complete with buildings were offered to New England settlers.
