Memorials of the Chaunceys by William Chauncey Fowler
pgs. 206, 214
"III. ABIAH, born January 22, 1699. She married Col. Hall and had a son named Chauncy. She also married, as appears, Rev. TIMOTHY CUTLER. afterwards Rector of Yale College. I have found no evidence of the marriage, except in the extract from the will of Rev. Charles Chauncy above quoted."
History of Wallingford, Conn. by Charles Henry Stanley Davis
Genealogies - Part 1, pg. 757
"Benjamin Hall, son of John and Mary Lyman Hall, married Abigail, daughter of Rev. Nathaniel Chauncey, of Durham, Feb. 20, 1727, and settled in Cheshire on the place now known as the Law farm."
Note: Davis indicates that this individual was Abigail Chauncey, daughter of Rev. Nathaniel Chauncey (the first graduate of Yale). Davis' assertion conflicts with the account of Fowler, who is far more focused on the Chauncey lineage, as well as other unsourced accounts. The possibility that this Abigail is the correct identity is nearly impossible, as she was born on Oct 2, 1717 (which would make her 9 years old if she married on the date listed), and Fowler, etc. indicate that Abigail married Hon. Jabez Hamlin in 1749, while mentioning no other marriages.
