Aboudi Setty

Aboudi was involved in the affairs of the Jewish community since 1900 till 1956. He was the first and only Jewish lawyer to serve in the Attournies bar association in Baghdad and had a leading role as secratery of the association. He served in the Jewish community council "Majless Amoumi" for over 30 years since the early 20's. Aboudi took upon himself to setup the rabanical educational institution for the younger generation to study and carry on with the jewish tradition. The institution was called "תומכי תורה" "Tomkhe Tora", and Aboudui managed the organization for over 30 years since 1926. Original documents were discovered during the bombardments of Iraq by the US when an archive was hit and revealed those documents along with Tora books from centuries ago which were hidden by Sadam Hussein. Those documents were saved by the americans who restored them and presented them in an online museum.
