SEPTEMBER 28, 1944 Issue, Shinnston Obituaries:

"McELFRESH. Abram McElfresh, 81, a retired farmer of Meadland died at noon Tuesday of last week in a Clarksburg hospital following an illness of three weeks of complications due to his advanced age.

He was born in Taylor county, the youngest and last surviving member of a family of 13. He was twice married. His first wife was Ollie Kail, and two children were born to this union. One survives, Odbert C. McElfresh of Meadland. The second wife was Mary Frances Withers. Three children were born to this wedlock and two survive. They are Mrs. Charles Bunner, Flemington, Rt. 1, and Mrs. Earl Cooper of Shinnston." [SEPTEMBER 28, 1944 Issue, Shinnston Obituaries]
