Abraham/Avrum Gass

Sophie, the youngest daughter of Rachel Dorin Klein was later adopted by an Uncle Moshe (and wife Mattie) Dorin. She married Avrum Gass in Cherson,Russia (probably Ananyev, 100 miles north of Odessa), and he arrived in the USA in 1906. Sophie came with her first two children in 1908. They lived in St. Paul, Minnesota. Sophie & Abe had 3 more children. 3 died unmarried, but two left descendants Gass and Overbach.

We do not know what drew them to Minnesota. Other Dorin-side relatives were clustered in St. Louis and Philadelphia.
