IMPORTANT NOTE - he was twice married to an "Anna Francina Roets" (the first one, b5c3d2, was killed at Blaauwkrantz; he married her cousin - the second one, b5c2d5, in Sep. 1838). He later married Susannah Maria de Jager.
Uit die Joubert-boek (2e uitgawe): 'Hy het aan die slag van Bloedrivier deelgeneem. Hy was die eerste landdros op Nazareth (Middelburg), Tvl. Hy was ook die afgevaardigde ouderling na die NG Kerk se sinode in Utrecht, Natal waar hulle toestemming gekry het om ’n nuwe gemeente in Middelburg te stig. Toe hulle nie ’n bouer kon kry nie, het hy self die bouwerk onderneem en die eerste grasdakkerk in Middelburg gebou, terwyl hy met sy werk as landdros voortgegaan het. Die kerkraad skenk aan hom ’n erf vir dienste gelewer. In 1875 koop hy nog twee erwe. Die huidige hofgebou is op die perseel gebou. Boer op Witkoppie by Spekboomrivier, Ohrigstad en later op Kafferspruit, Ermelo.'

Joubert, Abraham B.
He took part in the battle of Blood River. He was the first Magistrate of Nazareth (Middleburg TVL). He was also a delegated elder to the NG Church's synod in Utrecht, Natal where they got permission to establish a new congregation in Middleburg. When they could not find a builder, he undertook the building work himself and built the first thatched church in Middleburg, while continuing his work as magistrate. The church council donates him a plot of land for services rendered. In 1875 he bought two more plots. The current courthouse was built on the site. Farmer on SWitkoppie by Spekboom River, Ohrigstad and later on Kafferspruit, Ermelo.
