Abraham Emmons is DAR Patriot # A036652
DAR listed children:
Abraham S. Emmons in this profile parents should be John Emans and Teuntje Van Dyck. The parent listing was WRONG.
Updates:
1.Uriah Emans is NOT the son of Abraham Emmons Jr., son of Abraham Isaac Emmons and Margaret Tice, but instead the son of John Emans and Teuntje Van Dyck.
Uriah Emans is NOT named in Abraham Isaac Emmons Will, which is here: < AncestrySharing >
The Will for Abraham Isaac Emmons is the 1785, Oct. 15, Emens, Abraham, Sr. of Monmouth NOT the previous listing for the 1795, Oct. Oct. 21, Emans, Abraham of Hardwick. These Wills have been conflated with each other to the discredit of each Patriot. It is recommended to revise your geneaologies.
2. One of Abraham Emmons Jr.'s wives may have been Susannah Lawrence, Monmouth County Deeds Book M, page 339, dated January 12, 1801, because Abraham's wife had Dower rights to the land that he inherited from his father.
There are three separate Abraham Emmons Patriots:
It is appropriate that all three Patriots are recognized separately for their service to the country.
