About Abraham Gish
A037357 Abraham is the son of Abraham Gish and Anna Longenecker. He married Elizabeth Shelly 23 Dec 1823 in Dauphin Co, Pa. Children are Leah, Abraham S, Levi, Anna, Shelby, Jacob, Michael. In the spring of 1842 preparation were made or removal to Williams Co a distance of 160 miles. The trip took three weeks on account of bad roads. Thre were three families. Our own, Aunt Katy with four children and Sam Bear and family. Father and Mother and brother Levi
and I rode in the carriage which had brought us over the mountains two years before. It was a hard tedious journey. The Stone turnpike was just being constructed. After they arrived they never used the carriage again because there were no roads. Probably one of the first carriages in that part of the country.* Reference: [https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/55882004/abraham-gish Find A Grave Memorial] - [https://www.geni.com/projects/SmartCopy/18783 SmartCopy]: ''Oct 26 2020, 5:05:03 UTC''
