Served in the French/Indian War in Capt Foster's company, Col Nichols' regiment. While on the way to Ft Ticonderoga the men sheltered at Halfway Brook Blockhouse. Capt Dakin and his company were connected with the expedition of General Amherst against Crown Point. While scouting outside they were attacked and killed by Indians many scalped.
