Here he worked with his brother-in-law, Janzen, in the latter's watch repair shop and learned from him the trade of a watch maker. Another record says he was born 30 May 1797. Maxine Janzen (b. 1970) says in her MyHeritage site that his name is Abraham Johann Janzen. He and his family migrated to Molotschna in 1839, settling in Schoensee.
