A Patriot of the American Revolution for NEW JERSEY with the rank of Private. DAR Ancestor # A020152
After their marriage, they moved to PA then onward to the Northwest Territory where the family settled in Cincinnati, OH in 1796. He owned a tract of land in Millcreek Valley (now a part of Cincinnati).
He appears in the US Federal Census for Cincinnatti, Hamilton Co., OH for the years 1798 and 1799. He appears in the Ohio Source Records, 1810 Tax Lists along with Samuel and Witsel Cary for Champaign County, OH on page 118 [genealogylibrary.com].
Abram was Sheriff of the county while he lived in Millcreek. I believe that is our Abraham who was elected Sergeant-At-Arms at the meeting the first legislative council of the Northwest Territory in Cincinnati on 9/16/1799. He was elected to this post for both the Council and for the House of Representatives.
At about the beginning of the 19th century, they moved to Springfield, OH where he died.
