Abram Simonsz Schoon

Abram Schoon (= Beautiful or Clean) was born in April 1813 in the dyke and truckfarmers village Broek op Langedijk, in the northwestern part of the Dutch western province Noord-Holland, the first child of the 19 yearsaged day laborer Simon Abramsz Schoon and Hillegonda Pieters Mulder. Source: scan of Abram's geboorteakte (birth certificate). His father signed the geboorteakte in a beautiful handwriting with "Simon Abrahamsz Schoon". Abram was named for his grandfather Abram Schoon.

The 25 years day laborer Abram Schoon, son of water miller (watermolenaar) Simon Schoon and Hillegond Mulder, married on Sunday 13 May 1838 in Broek op Langedijk to the four years older Willemtje Boogert, also born in Broek op Langedijk, daughter of late Krijn Boogert and Antje Bregman.

They had in Broek op Langedijk the following children:

• Stillborn Schoon in 1840;
• Simon Schoon, 1842-1886 Broek op Langedijk;
• Krijn Schoon, 1844-1927 Broek op Langedijk;
• Abram Schoon, 1846-1926 Broek op Langedijk.

Abram's wife Willemtje Boogert died on 18 November 1852 in Broek op Langedijk at the age of 43 years.

The 40 years aged widower and fisherman Abram Schoon remarried on Thursday 3 November 1853 in Broek op Langedijk at the age of 40 years to the seven years younger widow Guurtje Kaas, also born in Broek op Langedijk, daughter of Klaas Kaas and coster/monger (venter) and Hendrikje Schoenmaker.
