She was married to Walter E. Buck, December 27, 1900. To this union four children were born, three boys and one girl, All of them surviving.

Shortly after their marriage, Mr. and Mrs. Buck moved to Dewey County, Oklahoma and lived on a farm there for a number of years. From there they moved to southern Missouri and about a year then they moved back to Smith Center, to a farm owned by her broughter Will Bowman.

Besides her stricken young husband and four small children, the deceased is survived by her parents, five bothers and eight sisters. She was one of a family of seventeen children and her death was the first to occur in the family for many years. The three children who preceded her died in infancy.

The funeral services were held at the Dewey church in the presences of about 500 sympathizing friends and sorrowing relatives.

DEATH: A TERRIBLE ACCIDENT

DEATH: One of the saddest affairs to fall to a newspaper to report was the terrible accident at the Walter Bucks home nine miles northeast of town, about 7;00 p.m. last monday evening.

Mr. Buck had been working in the field all day and came home before sundown. As he entered the house were his wife was preparing the evening meal he noticed that it was not quite ready and asked her if he would have time to go to the garden where he had seen some young rabbits and shoot one of them. She said he would and he removed the single-barrel shot gun from were it hung on the wall and placed one loaded shell in the magasine and was starting to place the second one in when in some way, never to be known, it was discharged. the wife was moving about at her work and at that moment of the discharge was standing at the table with her back toward her husband. The charge struck in the rear of the head at the base of the brain. Death followed in about an hour. The neighbors were summoned an a rush call was made for Drs. Slagle and Morrison, who arrived there a short time befor the end, She was unconscious after the accident,

The peculiarly sad and fearful affair has cast a gloom over the entire neighborhood were the family was held in the highest esteem by the neighbore. The deceased was a pleasant lady, full of life and confort for those about her. She was a home girl and always had a comfortable home for her husband and children. Her life was given to seeing the bright side of life and happiness of outhers. the grief-stricken husband and father cannot be consoled in the trying ordeal through which he is passing.
