Adam Heisey Bachman

Adam H. Bachman, 77, of 307 North Cottage Street, Palmyra, passed away last evening, at 8:45 at the Good Samaritan Hospital, where he was taken yesterday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock. He had been in failing health for the past two weeks. Born in South Annville Township, he was the son of the late Simon and Katharine Heisey Bachman, and lived in the Palmyra area all his life. He was a boiler room fireman, formerly for the Hershey Estates and later for the A.S. Kreider Shoe Factory in Palmyra, retiring in 1949. A member of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows, of Palmyra, he was the last of his family, and is survived by his wife, Alma Nye Bachman: one son, Adam H. Bachman, Jr., Annville; and five daughters: Mrs. John Hess, Norwood, Penna.; Mrs. John Snyder and Mrs. Spencer Cassel, both of Palmyra; Mrs. Hollis Gingrich, Campbelltown; and Mrs. Joseph Barnes, with whom he resided in Palmyra.
