1). bobspu.ged The story is told of Adam Bailey joining the Gold Rush to the West, and that he returned with a suitcase full of gold with which he purchased his land in Clark Co., Missouri.
After possibly starting in Hardy Co., WVA, Robert Bailey moved to Pickaway Co.,
Ohio ca. 1815 (to “Military Reservation”: land res. for Revol. War
veterans) perhaps after having four children in VA (source: Noah
Bailey bio. sketch, 1887)
Moved to Knox Co., Indiana ca. 1820, abt. 18 mi N of Vincennes on
the Wabash.
Moved to St. Louis, MO in 1845 or 1846, around time of Maria’s
death. Robert died in cholera epidemic of 1849.
Re: Mary Conrad was a daughter of John Conrad and Magdalena
family of Augusta and Pendleton Counties, VA. (Pendleton
now is in West Virginia).
