• ca 1774 - Adam Carraway, son of Henry & Elizabeth Bryan Carraway is born in Wayne County, North Carolina.
• 1796 (January 12) - Adam, his mother Elizabeth & his brother John are listed as buyers at estate sale for Stephen Boyt in Wayne County, North Carolina.
• 1799 (March 10) - Adam is selected as one of three arbitrators in a land and boundary dispute in Wayne County, North Carolina.
• 1800 (February 28) - Adam sells 118 acres on the south side of the Neuse River and the west side of Carraway Creek to Joseph Everett of Wayne County, North Carolina.
• ca 1800 - Wayne County, North Carolina: Adam marries Sarah 'Sally' Alford, daughter of William & Sarah Blackman Alford.
• 1801 (April 15) - Adam and his wife Sally sell all of the land Sally inherited from her father to James Rhodes; Sally signed a separate release on 16 Nov 1801.
• ca 1805 = Adam & Sally move from Wayne County North Carolina to Tennessee.
• 1808 - Adam & Sally's first child (Adam Carraway Jr.) is born in Tennessee.
• 1809 - Adam & Sally move their family to their final home in Franklin County, Mississippi, eventually owning several lots in Meadville, Mississippi.
