Adam Cunningham of Auchenharvie, younger, is the son of Robert Cunningham of Auchenharvie and his wife Katherine Hunter. In 1631 he and his father and mother resigned the forty shilling land of Auchenharvie in the barony of Kilmaurs, with the tower and manor thereof, and the five merk land of Chapeltoun in the lordship of Stewarton, in favour of David Cunningham, son and heir of the deceased Patrick Cunningham of Kirkland. For greater security, David Cunningham obtained a charter of confirmation under the Great Seal of Scotland on 19 February 1631.
