Not much is known of Adam and Hannah Rinehart. They were with their children in Pennsylvania, Maryland and Virginia, and later went with them to Ohio in 1815.
Adam and Hannah Rinehart were born and reared in Pennsylvania and probably in Chester county. They were married in Pennsylvania as two sons were born there. Jacob b. 1781 and Abraham b. 1785. David was born in Maryland in 1788. Some of the Rinehart brothers went to live in Maryland and Adam may have moved along with them. They may not have lived here too long. The Church of the Brethren was being formed in Maryland at the time and there were only a few Baptist Congregations in the state. Adam and his family were German Baptist and they probably moved on to Virginia around 1790 and settled in Augusta County. The children grew to maturity and married in Virginia, except Anne, who married in 1826 after her mothers death in 1823. No record was found of Obediah other than the cemetery records in Montgomery County, Ohio.
In 1815, Jacob, Abraham, David and Obediah, with their families and their father and mother, left Virginia to live in Preble County, Ohio. The names of the parents were never given but his wife's name was given as Hannah. No mention was made where they may have lived in Ohio. Hannah may have lived with Abraham and Mary Rinehart before her death.
Jacob and David Rinehart were recorded in the 1820 Ohio Census and Abraham was recorded in the 1830 Ohio Census living in Section 30, Township 5, Range 3, which was Lanier Township. Abraham was somewhere else with his parents but nothing recorded.
Their burial place is unknown. The author leaves this open to future research or of some one who might have these records.
