About Adam Lyons Schlesinger

Adam Schlesinger was an American songwriter, composer and record producer. He won Emmy and Grammy Awards, and was nominated for Oscar, Tony, and Golden Globe Awards. He was also a winner of the ASCAP Pop Music Award.

He was the bassist for the bands Fountains of Wayne, Ivy and Tinted Windows. He was also a key songwriting contributor and producer for Brooklyn-based synth-pop duo Fever High. Schlesinger grew up in Manhattan and Montclair, New Jersey.

Rock Musician. He was the bassist and founding member of the rock band "Fountains of Wayne", which he began with singer/guitarist Chris Collingwood in 1995. He appeared on the band's five studio releases, and co-wrote with Collingswood their 2003 hit song "Stacy's Mom". In addition to his work with Fountains of Wayne, he co-wrote and produced albums for bands such as "The Verve Pipe" and "They Might Be Giants". He died from the coronavirus during the 2020 outbreak of the disease.
