About Adam Shuler immigrant

notes. It appears that the Schuler / Shuler history is having confusion with all the first name Adam. I can't prove it, but will go with what i found at Werelate. org, that Adams father is Adam also, but not born 1735, but actually in 1787. There seems to have been about to generations missing in between, this Adam, and the Adam 1735, whose father Adam, born 1606 and grandfather Christian, born 1576. It does appear though, that this Adam's mother was in fact Anna Margaretha Zimmerman, wife of Adam 1687. There are to many contradicting trees out there, but enough rough evidence to show that most likely, that this Adam1717, married to Elizabeth Stein was the son of 1687 Adam Schuler / Shuler married to Anna Zimmerman son of Adam Schuler 1656 married Maria Haug, born abt. 1660, This is where the problem is, because the claim is that his father was Adam born 1606 dies 1635, same with his mother. So some trees have this Adam 1656 , born 1635, with both parents dying at his birth, again ???? There seems to be a fixed dates in all of these Adams 1606, 1635 , 1656, 1687 and 1717. It is my belief that all of these dates are true, though i can't prove it, thus being an Adam born on each of those, with the possible exception to Adam 1635

1635 is a crucial year in the history of this region of Germany. In Ostdorf Wuertemberg Germany where the Schulers lived, Encyclopedia Britanica claims "... The population of Lutheran Württemberg, for example, which was occupied by the imperialists between 1634 and 1638, fell from 450,000 to 100,000;.."

So in four years that area lost 350,000 people, which may have included Adam 1606 and his wife. If we do the math, 1606 to 1635 is 29 years, and 1635 to 1656 is 21 years. That both parents died in that war, in that particular region, would make sense. What doesn't is the dates, or skips. So some trees have Adam 1656 as the same Adam as 1635, depending on which tree. I believe the confusion is from this untimely death of a family in this struggle in Germany, and some of the concrete evidence of births were lost or were destroyed.

There does seem to be concrete dates for marriages between Adam 1606 and his wife. Adam 1656 and his wife. Adam 1687 and his wife, but not Adam 1635. When in a tree, a Adam shows up as born 1635, there is confusion about his marriage to Anna Zimmerman or Maria Haug. I believe that the 1635 birth, was a way to make sence of the deaths of Adam 1606 and his wife Katarina Schnaiblen death in 1635. We have a concrete date of marriage for them. May 24,, 1630 Ostdorf, Schwarzwaldkreis, Wuertermburg, Germany Werelate.org Adam 1656 and Maria Haug abt. 1660, married Feb. 3, 1679 in Ostdorf, Schwarzwaldkreis, Wuertermburg, Germany we relate .org Adam 1687 marriage to Anna Zimmerman

no concrete date, but roots web seems to have some fairly concrete evidence, the only problem is that Adam Schuler 1717, his fathers name is Johann Adam or John, but same birth date, same wife, same person. we have then something more concrete. The confusion really seems to come down to the name: these notes will be added to Adam 1787 instead of here.
