Mum was a Dressmaker at the time of the marriage and Daddy was a Carpenter. They were aged 45 and thirty-two.
The witnesses of the wedding were Norma(n) Davis and Princes Phillips
The number in the register was 11519 - my grandfathers names were George Wright and Obadiah Francis.
My father lived in St Thomas and mum lived in Easington.
Is there anybody out there who was present at the wedding and can add more details - please?
Mum stood for no nonsense - loved children and her family. Mum supported the education of many members of her family, Rose, Laurice, Malti, Pat etc. Mum was generally a fighter (that is where her affectionate name of "Fire" came from - Dad used to call her fire with a twinkle in this eye.
