About Adeline B Anderson

Adeline B. "Johnny" Anderson

Wenatchee, WA

Adeline B. "Johnny" Anderson, 85, beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully in the care of her loving family on April 15, 2011. Johnny, one of 11 children, was born to Julia and Charles Dylla in Wells, MN on December 17, 1925. She married Joseph J. "Joe" Anderson of Easton, MN on September 10, 1949. Joe and Johnny moved to Brookings, SD shortly after their marriage, where Joe completed his college degree in Electrical Engineering. After his graduation, they moved to Portland, OR, where Joe started his career with Bonneville Power Administration and Johnny started her life's work of raising her six children. Carol and Bill were born while they lived in Portland and Ron arrived after a move to Olympia. Joe and Johnny finally settled for good in Wenatchee, where the "three little girls", Janet, Diane and Barb, were born. Johnny spent her life devoted to raising her family and keeping the household in immaculate condition. When her children arrived home from school, they were greeted with the smell of warm, homemade English muffins or chocolate chip cookies and the beginnings of a delicious evening meal. She taught her daughters how to sew, cook and bake and her sons to mow, cook and rake - she taught the entire family about unconditional love. She was the rock of her household and brought much joy, laughter and strength to her family.

Johnny will be greatly missed and always loved by her children, Carol Anderson and Bill (Caryn) Anderson, all of Wenatchee, Ron (Susan) Anderson of Lynnwood, Janet (John) Beck of Yakima, Diane (Dan) Murphy of Redmond and Barb (Rick) Williams of Los Gatos, CA. Starting in 1976, she gladly took on the role of "Grandma Johnny" to her 11 cherished grandchildren, Matthew Burts; Kyle, Courtney and Cordell Anderson; Erin and Julia Anderson; Adam, Brian and Aaron Beck; and Rachel and Adrian Williams. In the past year, she was elated to welcome a great-granddaughter, Madison Rogers, who was the apple of Grandma Johnny's eye and who always brought a smile to her great-grandma's day. In addition to her children and grandchildren, Johnny is survived by her sister, Mary Ann Krueger of Mankato, MN; and her brother, Leo Dylla of Wells, MN. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Anderson; her grandson, Matthew Burts; her parents, Julia and Charles Dylla; and eight brothers and sisters, Frank Dylla, Louis Dylla, Helen Jacobsen, Martha Schrader, Roman Dylla, Herbert Dylla, Florence Prange and Raymond Dylla.

A Memorial Service will be held at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 625 S. Elliott Avenue, Wenatchee on Tuesday, April 19, 2011, at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, those who wish to honor Johnny's memory may make a donation to the American Red Cross, or to a charity of your choice. Arrangements entrusted to Telford's Chapel of the Valley, East Wenatchee.
